About Us

Our Mission

Loving Touch Living is a compassionate adult residential care facility in Moreno Valley, dedicated to providing personalized support for adults aged 18-59. Our engaging activities and supportive community create a nurturing environment for our residents.

At Loving Touch Living, we offer Day Habilitation & Residential Facilities, tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. Our experienced team ensures a safe and caring environment for all residents.

Our well-maintained homes are located in a community setting, which offers shopping, dining, theatres, parks, hiking trails, and many other recreational opportunities for our residents.

Each home provides nicely furnished, comfortable accommodations and delicious, healthy meals and snacks for six adults with developmental disabilities. Most of our residents have their own bedrooms, and each room is individually personalized. Residents enjoy a wide variety of leisure activities, both in the home and in the community.

We serve adults, ages 18 to 59, with diverse interests and backgrounds. Each resident participates in a program designed by a licensed clinician, which focuses on developing communication skills and appropriate social behaviors, as well as daily activity skills such as grooming and making purchases.

Our homes are fully staffed with trained Direct Support Professionals, who work with our residents in carrying out each resident’s individual service plan in a positive and supportive environment. Our residents’ health is carefully monitored as they are assisted with medication administration and transported to medical and dental appointments.

About Developmental Disabilities

A developmental disability, as defined by California state law:

  • begins before an individual reaches age 18;

  • is something that goes on throughout an individual’s life;

  • is a substantial disability for the individual; and

  • requires assistance in the individual’s daily life

Developmental disabilities include cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and autism. It does not include people who have only physical, learning, or mental health challenges. Millions of people have developmental disabilities. These conditions touch families of all racial, ethnic and social backgrounds.

The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) provides funding through the regional centers for services for people with developmental disabilities. The DDS website at www.dds.ca.gov is a valuable source of information about eligibility criteria for services.

People with developmental disabilities have the same rights and responsibilities as any other U.S. citizen. The Lanterman Act, passed into California law in the 1970s, is a key piece of legislation that defines the rights of the developmentally disabled population. Cornerstone Community Homes fully supports the rights of people with developmental disabilities to have an active, choice-filled life at home and in the community. “A Consumer’s Guide” to the Lanterman Act” is available on the DDS website.

The rights of people with developmental disabilities who live in adult residential facilities are also protected by California regulations through the Department of Social Services’ Community Care Licensing Division, which can be accessed through the website: www.ccld.ca.gov
